The scarab beetle was a symbol of self-creation to the ancient Egyptians. Worshipped as the god Khepri (he who came forth from the earth), it was believed the scarab rolled the sun across the sky.
This sterling silver cuff bracelet is adorned with the image of the scarab and is 3/4 inches wide and about 8 inches long - the back is open so it's adjustable to fit just about any wrist (bend gently - any metal can break if bent back and forth excessively). The scarabs are cut from silver and then hand formed over a second, antiqued band to stand in slightly domed relief. They are beautifully incised with fine detail. The entire piece is then carefully bent by hand between each scarab into a cuff bracelet. A truly beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
Imported from Egypt, it is made in the silver market by skilled Egyptian craftsmen.
